So, by now I am sure that all who read this have taken at least a peek at the new Google Browser - Chrome. I'm not going to beat around the bush; I am a big Google fan and not one to think they are reaching for world domination or be the next Microsoft. While I am enthusiastic to see yet another Google Lab project come to life, I wonder (an this is purely from a Web developers seat) if we need another browser to complicate standards compliance and Internet browsing in general. From the end-users' perspective it's fair to say that having more and more options on what vehicle you use to view the Web is a good thing. However, as a "code slave" I could do without having to create more JS and CSS hacks to deal with little browser specific idiosyncrasies. In Google's defense, they have built this browser to be Open Source with a base of Mozilla, but this doesn't mean that there won't be differences to contend with.
Here's to hoping that we won't need to battle an additional slice of the browser pie!
